Fulfilling the PLUS acronym in our name, "Patterning Learning Upon Scripture," the Education PLUS+ curriculum is designed for the entire family to work together in an interdisciplinary way around the core of Scripture. The first volume (Parts 1 and 2) focuses on Genesis 1-11 and provides the following three components for each chapter's work:

An introduction which includes the theme, Scripture memory suggestions from both Old and New Testaments, a featured hymn, and a "sky diagram" that charts at a glance the content suggested for both family discussion and individual projects.

A family discussion outline under the caption "Rightly Divide the Word of Truth," complete with a bibliography of resources, definitions of key concepts, and family project suggestions. You'll find lots of Scripture application and character-building lessons here.

A list of ideas for individual academic projects under the caption "Study to Show Yourself Approved," coded for all ages and cross-referenced into most of the Bob Jones University Press textbooks. Students working for high school credits will find point values attached to each assignment that can be totalled to produce a conventional transcript.

Each volume of the Education PLUS+ curriculum is formatted with 22 chapters of lesson plans. You are free to adapt the curriculum outline in any way you desire. Most families use a volume for two years of study, and it is possible for families who are not interested in the interdisciplinary unit study approach for academics to use just the "Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth" sections as a rigorous Bible curriculum that is highly effective in teaching students to understand serious worldview issues.

We pray that the ideas presented in each chapter will be a springboard from which your family can jump into a myriad of training projects. Don't try to do everything that is listed, for then you will move from the "exhaustive" to exhaustion! Feel free to delve into topics which the Holy Spirit suggests to you--even if we have not listed them. Use the volume as we have prayerfully intended: a resource of ideas to get your creative juices flowing and start you on a pilgrimage of integrating God's Word with the academic content you desire to see your family master. The curriculum is simply a tool--not a mandate.
